The recipe is based on a so-called high-rye mashbill, in which a comparatively high proportion of rye is used. This gives the bourbon a particularly spicy and strong aroma that sets it apart from other small batch bourbons. The maturation in new, burnt-out American white oak barrels ensures a deep color and a characteristic balance between sweetness, spice and wood notes.
